Spirals Bell Pull

This ?Bell Pull? design has been influenced by two beautiful masterpieces of ancient art, ?The Lindisfarne Gospels?, a religious manuscript produced in the Northumberland Island Monastery of Lindisfarne at the end of the 7th century, and ?The Tara Brooch? of the same era which is held at the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin. Sammy has endeavoured to capture the interplay between the curved lines that emanate from the three-sided panels on ?The Tara Brooch? and the spiral web of colours within ?The Lindisfarne Gospels? that bind the design together.

This design has been worked on 14 count Aida fabric in cream colour and, when finished, measures 5.3? x 16.5? / 13.4cm x 41.9cm.
