Ink Circles - Nine Lives

Chinese calligraphy is so beautiful and elegant. This piece was inspired by a book in which I saw the Shou character for "long life" written dozens of different ways. Each of the red centers in the lattice squares is a different way. Think of each as a mini stitched blessing for a long life. (You'll need it if you have as much stash as I do.) This design uses five shades of Carrie's Thread, with a DMC conversion included. 121 x121 stitch count. Individual squares and smaller grouping of squares offer additional possibilities.
