Although none of their works led to the discovery of the Philosopher?s Stone or the ability to create gold from a base metal, many wonderful scientific advances were made, opening the field for modern chemists. The chartpack includes a key to the symbolic meanings, from the earth, air, fire, and water triangles in the corners to the nine golden symbols for gold in the center.

The table below provides information on the stitch count using the suggested DMC colors on 14 count fabric. DMC skeins are 6 stranded and 8.7 yards long. You will need to adjust the given thread requirements for other brands or other fabric counts. Remember that overdyed threads require more yardage because stitches are done one-at-a-time, not in rows, to maintain the color variation. (This design would look GREAT using overdyed or hand-dyed floss on fine count linen).
