The Compass Rose was an emblem used to represent the direction of the winds upon charts and maps from around the 1300's. The term 'rose' comes from the compass points resembling petals of a flower. Aternating colours were used for clarity.
Model stitched over two threads on 32ct linen. Approximate design size 326 x 406h. 20.5" x 25.50"
